#VILLAGEPARTY 11.03.12

Surviving Sandy

As the tri state prepared for a storm we turned to social networks. Had our fun made our jokes. Some of us showed our fear of nature and for that some it was appropriate  Hurricane Sandy came, destroyed and vandalized and then left us to clean up the mess. The storm itself wasn't as devastating as the aftermath. With a death toll of 38 (and counting) 22 in NYC, 2 on Long Island, 6 in Jersey and 4 in Connecticut. Not to mention the thousands without power or clean water or the many that lost their homes to the wild fires in Queens and the Jersey Shore boardwalk being washed away completely. You can say that the impact is evident. Nowhere near as bad as Irene as we enter Day 3 since the initial storm warning and all around the city we still feel the impact. Enough of an impact to require attention from the federal govt. and FEMA. So to those effected by the storm we wish you the best and a speedy recovery.
